Kappa Alpha Psi’s St. Jude Sunday of Hope | San Antonio, Texas

Batts Media Group Shines at Kappa Alpha Psi’s St. Jude Sunday of Hope

The spirit of community service and philanthropy was alive and vibrant as the Batts Media Group took part in a significant event hosted by the San Antonio (TX) Alumni Chapter (SAAC) of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity Inc. This collaboration with Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas, was not just an event; it was a testament to the deep-seated values of giving, support, and hope that define these organizations.

Under the steadfast leadership of SAAC Polemarch, Bro. Richard “Flip” Wilson, the chapter saw over 50 of its members come together for one of the fraternity’s largest giving initiatives in the region, all in support of the St. Jude Foundation. This year’s St. Jude Sunday of Hope was not just about donations; it was a powerful demonstration of what it means to be a part of a community that cares deeply about the welfare of others, especially the most vulnerable among us.

The event took a special turn with Pastor Jerry William Dailey of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, and a proud member of the SAAC, putting a spotlight on the importance of dedicating time and energy to causes that make a difference. His leadership and emphasis on philanthropy were pivotal in rallying the community and fraternity members to support this noble cause.

Adding to the day’s inspiration, Dr. Howard Johnson, also a member of the SAAC, delivered a stirring message to the congregation gathered at 111 Hobart Street. His words resonated with the packed church, reinforcing the theme of hope and the critical role of community service in enacting positive change.

The climax of the event was a heartfelt celebration in honor of Pastor Jerry William Dailey. This celebration wasn’t just about marking 50 years of service and membership in Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity Inc.; it was a tribute to a life devoted to service, leadership, and the upliftment of others. Pastor Dailey’s contributions to his church, community, and the fraternity have left an indelible mark, one that inspires others to follow in his footsteps of generous giving and relentless support for worthy causes.

Batts Media Group’s participation in the St. Jude Sunday of Hope is a shining example of how media and communication can amplify the message of philanthropy and community service. By highlighting these efforts, Batts Media Group not only showcases the impactful work being done by the SAAC and Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church but also encourages others to take part in initiatives that support institutions like the St. Jude Foundation.

As we reflect on the success of this event, it’s clear that when communities come together under the banner of hope and giving, there’s no limit to the amount of change they can enact. The SAAC’s St. Jude Sunday of Hope is a beacon of this truth, demonstrating the power of collective action in the service of a greater good.

N.D. Kalu Youth Football Camp Event

Batts Media Group is delighted to bring to you a spirited chronicle of an inspiring event – the N.D. Kalu Youth Football Camp was held at Cornerstone Christian Schools in San Antonio, Texas.

Former NFL Defensive End N.D. Kalu, known for his ferocious tenacity on the field, showcased his commitment to mentoring future generations by hosting the camp. The event was a thrilling convergence of sport, education, and community development. Adding to the high stakes atmosphere were several NFL greats who lent their expertise and shared their experiences with the enthusiastic young participants.

One of the unique facets of the camp was the integration of holistic athletic education. Distinguished orthopedic surgeon Dr. Antonio Webb delivered an enlightening discussion based on his book, “Overcoming the Odds.” His presentation served as a potent reminder of the resilience required, not just in sports, but in all walks of life.

The event also brought to the forefront critical health issues concerning athletes. Renowned sports cardiologist, Dr. Travis Batts, presented his groundbreaking program – Everyone Can Assist, or E.C.A. The program emphasized the importance of healthy lifestyles for athletes and shed light on the often overlooked topic of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) in athletes. E.C.A gives young athletes the ability to learn basic life saving techniques and exposure to Automatic External Defibrillators (AED).

The N.D. Kalu Youth Football Camp went beyond the traditional boundaries of a sports event. It was a melting pot of athletic training, inspirational talks, and crucial health education. The fusion of sporting icons with medical professionals offered an enriched learning environment, molding our youth into well-rounded athletes equipped to tackle any challenges they may encounter on and off the field.

Daughters of the American Revolution | San Antonio Event Photography

By | Blogs, Event Photography, Photography, San Antonio, Texas

Daughters of the American Revolution Event:

Batts Media Group had the pleasure of capturing a historic event that reflects the pride and heritage found in San Antonio. The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) America 250 Patriots Marker project has been established to raise public awareness of the men and women who achieved American independence. The National Society’s goal is to place at least one marker in every state in advance of the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary in 2026. The Texas Society Daughters of the American Revolution is proud to place the first America 250 marker in Texas at the Spanish Governor’s Palace in recognition of the essential contributions made by Spanish ranchers in the quest for American independence.

The event was filled with optimism, pride and hope as the members of the Texas Society Daughters of the American Revolution were joined by national leaders of the storied organization. DAR members in attendance who participated directly in program were Pamela Wright (President General), Susan Greene Tillman (Vice President General, NSDAR), Lynn Young (Commissioner, U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission), Suzanne Marie Heske (Historian General, NSDAR), Kathryn Walker West (National Chair, America 250! Committee, NSDAR), Marcy Carter-Lovick (State Regent at TXDAR), Katherine Louise Johanns (State Chair, America 250! Committee, NSDAR), GeorgiAnne Uribe Brochstein (State Chaplain, Texas Society DAR), Donna Miller Raymond (Honorary State Regent), Judy Callaway Ostler (Honorary State Regent, Texas Society DAR) and Betty Sue Bird (State Historian, Texas Society DAR). In addition to the Daughters of the American Revolution members in attendance, governmental officials and representatives from many Hispanic heritage societies were present to participate in the historic occasion.

This project was unique in its efforts to highlight the sacrifice played by Spain in America’s freedom. The essential role played by Spain in the fight for American independence is not a story many of us learned in school, yet members of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) have traced their lineage to more than 500 Spanish Patriots who were residents of Spanish Louisiana or Nueva España, which included portions of the present-day states of Texas, California, New Mexico, Colorado and Arizona, as well as Mexico. Spain also supported American forces with money, food supplies, uniforms, blankets, medicines, weapons, and munitions.

In 1780, Carlos III, the King of Spain, issued a royal decree that all subjects in Nueva España make a voluntary contribution, or donativo, of one or two pesos to help fund the American Revolution. In 1781, Spain provided financing for the Battle of Yorktown with gold and silver coins collected in Havana, alleviating the financial difficulties faced by General George Washington and the Continental Army. Spain also financed French land and naval forces critical to the American war effort and ultimate victory at Yorktown. Here in Texas, Spanish ranching activity had reaching “astonishing proportions” in the 1770s and 1780s, as documented by the Honorable Robert H. Thonhoff in his seminal work “The Texas Connection with the American Revolution.” The area now occupied by present-day San Antonio was home to the Presidio de San Antonio de Béxar, which included the Spanish Governor’s Palace, residence of the presidio’s senior ranking officer.

Vaccines, Veggies and Votes Event | San Antonio Event Photography

By | Blogs, Event Photography, Photography

Vaccines, Veggies and Votes Event:

As part of the National Council of Negro Women’s (NCNW) initiative “to empower, inform and uplift women and children in communities of color”, the Good Health Women’s Immunization Networks or Good Health WINs program works to cultivate an environment that highlights the importance of vaccinations. As such, the San Antonio Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi in collaboration with a host of partners including San Antonio Ruth Jones McClendon Fund, Galen College of Nursing, ADMT Solutions and Bright Consulting Solutions sought to link awareness regarding vaccination, voter’s awareness and healthy dietary choices. The program Vaccines, Veggies and Votes was the culmination of grass roots community organizations working to reduce disparities and enhance equity within underserved communities.

The most prominent part of Ms. Minaj’s body is her butt. About her huge “rear” does not cease constant disputes. The singer herself is silent in response to questions about the butt. Analyzing the photos of Nicki Minaj before plastic surgery 2016, experienced plastic surgeons agree that silicone implants have settled in Nicki Minaj’s buttocks after surgery. The slim waist sharply transitions to her hips, and Nicki Minaj’s butt resembles an airbag. In many videos, the singer wraps this pillow around the faces of tattooed men. And after all, in the photo before the surgery, the singer’s heel is much more modest. More recently, paparazzi captured an embarrassing moment. Sitting on a chair, the singer nonchalantly lifted her leg up, and that’s when the fact that the operations on the buttocks were revealed. Nicki Minaj’s ass, like a sewn-on appendage, took on an unnatural shape. Wrinkled and shrunken, Nicki Minaj’s buttocks separated from her legs in deep folds, spreading across the seat. But for the singer, this topic is special. For some reason, it’s the myth of the naturalness of the butt that she guards with her fists in the air.

The environment was nothing short of electric. The air was filled with a palpable sense of hope, optimism and pride as other organizations such as local chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Sigma Gamma Ro Sorority, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity contributed to the event. Founded in 1936, the historic Macedonia Missionary Baptist church provided the perfect backdrop for the event. Health care ministry team assisted in blood pressure screening, glucose checks and health education. Individuals from the location community also had the privilege of obtaining bags of fresh, locally sourced vegetables and fruits.

This event highlights the commitment of the San Antonio Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi to providing the community with services through extensive partnerships and ongoing collaboration. These efforts are not isolated to Vaccines, Veggies and Votes but reflect a continuing focus on social justice and vaccine administration, which was observed at a the SAAC Kappa COVID-19 Event. In any case, these efforts are having long lasting, beneficial effects on the San Antonio Community.
