Christian’s Birthday Project Overview:

The Prather shoot provided a unique look into an opportunity to capture the moments of an energetic 1 year old. As we followed this precocious preschooler around his home, his actions were chronicled in pages of our minds with the images we obtained.

Family portraits, or better stated, lifestyle photography in young children is often filled with challenges. When photographing young children we utilize the 3 P’s, PARENTS, PROPS AND PLAY. These techniques lead to capturing unrehearsed, natural scenes.

Using strategies to keep him in a familiar environment, engaging the parents and most importantly, making the shoot fun, kept him engaged adding to the success of the shoot. This shoot provided new elements that yielded stunning once in a lifetime images that the family will view long after the shoot. His inquisitive nature and overall comfort in front of the camera are rare attributes that are seen in shoots with much older participants.
