Capturing Brilliance: Batts Media Group Covers the 2025
On April 27, 2025, Batts Media Group had the distinct honor of capturing the energy, pride, and excellence on full display at the San Antonio City-Wide NSBE Jr. Chapter’s Annual Awards Banquet, held at the San Antonio Food Bank. This unforgettable evening celebrated not only academic achievement and leadership in STEM but also the powerful sense of community and purpose that defines this extraordinary organization.
Since its founding in 2006, the San Antonio City-Wide NSBE Jr. Chapter has been a cornerstone of opportunity for K–12 students across the metroplex. As a nonprofit youth organization under the national NSBE Jr. umbrella, it provides a robust platform where young minds are empowered to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through hands-on experiences in robotics, coding, math, cybersecurity, model rocketry, and more.
Led by the inspiring husband-and-wife team of Sam and Nicole Draper, this family-centered chapter is more than just an academic resource—it’s a launchpad for dreams. With the support of committed mentors and volunteers, the chapter prepares students for life beyond high school with ACT/SAT prep, college admissions guidance, and scholarship support. Their mission is clear: to develop the next generation of Black STEM leaders who will innovate, inspire, and impact the world.
The Awards Banquet was a powerful reflection of this mission. Held at the San Antonio Food Bank, the evening honored the achievements of students, mentors, and community partners who have contributed to another remarkable year. Smiles, hugs, and applause filled the room as young scholars were recognized for their hard work and commitment to excellence.
As storytellers behind the lens, Batts Media Group was proud to preserve these powerful moments. Our role was not just to document an event—but to witness and share a celebration of brilliance, resilience, and hope.
