CMSgt Woodard Retirement Event:

Military retirement is an occasion which prompts reflection over various phases of the military member’s career. Batts Media Group was honored to be asked to capture an early celebration for CMSgt Woodard. CMSgt Woodard’s journey in the United States Air Force has spanned over two decades. Her ability to uplift all those around her has created an environment of growth and mutual respect.

Despite the protocol and procedure require for military events, all who attended yielded a warm and welcoming demeanor. The room was filled with gleeful admiration as attendees reflected on the impact that CMSgt Woodard played in their respective careers.

CMSgt Woodard touched the lives of everyone who had the pleasure of coming in contact with her. Her energy, enthusiasm and commitment to serve others, gave all who were in attendance the opportunity to witness a true, American Hero!

Lt. Col. Arnold R. Mosley Retirement Event:

Military retirement is an occasion which prompts reflection over various phases of the military member’s career. Batts Media Group was honored to be asked to capture the momentous event for Lt. Col. Arnold R. Mosley. Lt Col Mosley’s journey in the military is one that reflects both individual perseverance and a passion for people. His ability to galvanize, grow and guide airmen was reflected in this ceremony.

Lieutenant Colonel Mosley entered the Air Force through Enlisted Basic Military Training on 16 September, 1987. He began his career as a Personnel Technician stationed at Torrejon Air Base, Spain. In 2002, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant after successfully completing Officer Training School at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama.

Prior to his current assignment, Lieutenant Colonel Mosley served as the Commander, 436th Force Support Squadron, Dover Air Force Base, Delaware. His staff experience includes a tour at the Directorate of Personnel, Headquarters Air Education and Training Command. Lieutenant Colonel Mosley has deployed in support of numerous contingency and combat operations in Southwest Asia and the Middle East.

Arnold R. Mosley’s Retirement stands apart as it was met with a host of unique challenges. The coronavirus has created a new normal. Social distancing, universal masks, and restriction of movement could hamper any occasion. Although necessary to slow the spread of COVID-19, these measures notably could negatively impact the levity and joy felt during a retirement ceremony. However, this was not the case during the Mosley Retirement Ceremony. Batts Media worked hand and hand with the Mosley’s to ensure all of the aforementioned safety measures were exceeded. Despite meeting these requirements, the spirit of service, selflessness, and sacrifice were observed during the entire event.

Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Jeremiah Project Event:

Batts Media Group had the unique opportunity to capture one of San Antonio’s hidden gems. Education, as we know, is the key that opens all doors. Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, San Antonio, Texas most certainly believes this mantra. Under the leadership of the Reverend Dr. Jerry William Dailey, Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church has sought to fortify their educational platform with an immersive and engaging tutoring program for all students. The Jeremiah Project is the brain child of a think tank of San Antonio Educator whose primary goal is to make education fun, informative and accessible for ALL San Antonio youth. The program offers tutoring for all subject and all levels with even some assistance for college aged students. Come, join Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church as they cultivate an environment of hope, empowerment and faith with the Jeremiah Project.

AKA Mahogany Brain Challenge Event:

Batts Media Group was blessed to see one of San Antonio’s hidden gems, the Mahogany Brain Challenge. Since 1988, the Alpha Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, has made the Mahogany Brain Challenge a focal point of African American History Month. The Mahogany Brain Challenge utilizes the competitive nature of children and adults alike, to foster an environment where African American culture, heritage and knowledge is tested in a quiz bowl style format. Contestant from San Antonio and surrounding communities partake in what can only be called an amazing, culturally immersive experience. Even after 32 years of competition, the Mahogany Brain Challenge continues to provide an avenue to highlight to contributions of African Americans to American society.

The shooting experience was nothing short of awe-inspiring. To see host of children, from ages as young as five years-old work to memorize thousands of African American history facts. The Alpha Tau Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha ensured that all participants and spectators had a delightful experience. Their chapter worked tirelessly to facilitate movement and coordination of hundreds of members, participants and family members. This level of commitment and effort is not new to the Alpha Tau Omega chapter, who for 89 years have displayed a propensity for education, healthcare and community involvement.

The Alpha Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority was established in 1930. For over 80 years, they have displayed excellence in developing programs that focus on community growth and development.

John Philip Stevens’ Birthday Event Project:

Batts Media Group had the opportunity to experience one of San Antonio’s musical treasures, TOP SHELF!

For a band that has been on the local, San Antonio, scene for 5 years, Top Shelf has made a great musical impression on the Alamo City! From being the house band for the legendary “Lion’s Den” music night to performing on Great Day SA, they have been making their presence known as one of the best bands in the city. Top Shelf certainly delivers on their name. They create a fully immersive acoustic experience. They frequently guide listeners down memory lane with jazzy and adventurous covers of songs spanning multiple decades and musical genres. If you desire a premium musical experience that heightens your senses while soothing your soul, Top Shelf provides that elixir.

Top Shelf is a polished R&B band comprised of 5 members; John Stevens, Allen Golden Jr, De’Rick Hendry, Kevin Davison & Ryan Haynesworth.

Col. Kevin Steel Military Retirement Event Photo Shoot:

Military service is an opportunity to build relationships and truly develop into a leader. Batts Media Group was given a rare opportunity to experience one of the most heralded events in a military member’s career, retirement. From the posting of the colors to the final salute, the celebration of service is an awe-inspiring occurrence.

Col Kevin E. Steel served his country admirably in the United States Air Force. As a member of the medical corps, he provided life saving care to thousands of military service members and their families. From his early service as an internist at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, he exhibited a dedication to patient care. Col Steel returned to training to further his clinical expertise and completed a cardiology fellowship. After the completion of fellowship, he returned to formal military service as a staff cardiologist. During this time, he has been deployed to Afghanistan, Iraq and Oman. His desire for both excellence and lifelong learning prompted him to seek further specialty training in advanced cardiac imaging at Harvard University. After expanding his training, he returned to Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center, where he served as the 59th Medical Wing Science and Technology Deputy Chief Scientist.
